Waubesa Wetlands near Madison is one of Wisconsin's most studied water habitats and provides important food and shelter for waterfowl and migrating songbirds. Enjoy a free screening and event around ‘An Invitation to Wonder: Waubesa Wetlands,’ a film featuring Calvin DeWitt, a wetland scientist sharing the knowledge and wisdom he has found from living on the marsh for over 50 years. The filmmaker, Ben Albert, is his 20-year-old grandson.
Swift Night Out
Swift Night Out returns this September, and SOS Save Our Songbirds will have a booth at this event where Madison bird-loving organizations celebrate the incredible natural phenomenon of Chimney Swifts coming in to roost during migration!

World Migratory Bird Day
World Migratory Bird Day in Wausau brings a free event with fun for the whole family. A guided bird walk runs 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., view live birds, join in educational activities, games, prizes and crafts for kids, and a chance to talk to experts on the importance of insects to birds and planting native species.
