Swift Night Out

Visit our SOS Save Our Songbirds booth at Swift Night Out in Madison, an annual gathering to watch Chimney Swifts funnel into a chimney to roost for the night. The location is tentatively set for Cherokee Middle School, 4301 Cherokee Dr., Madison, WI 53711, but because swifts can change roosting locations, organizers encourage people to sign up to receive a notice of the final location. Bring a lawn chair and binoculars to observe and count swifts as they gather. Binoculars aren’t necessary but organizers will have extras on hand. Food will not be provided, bring your own snacks and beverages if you wish! The BIPOC Birding Club of Wisconsin, the Feminist Bird Club - Madison Chapter, and Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance, in partnership with the Wisconsin Chimney Swift Working Group, are collaborating to host this community gathering.
