Three ways to join SOS Save Our Songbirds

SOS Save Our Songbirds is all about action — because time is running out for our birds. Here are three different ways you can join SOS Save Our Songbirds and do your part to bring back songbirds in Wisconsin. Two are geared for Wisconsin bird lovers. The third is targeted to native plant nurseries, window treatment manufacturers and retailers, and coffee wholesalers and retailers.

Volunteer at our events and become a local champion

We’re looking for a few good people to be local champions bringing one or more outreach opportunities to people in your area. Here are some ideas and we’re happy to help you carry out other ideas you may have!

  • Volunteer at SOS events. Share your passion for birds and native plants with people at our own events or those where we have a booth. Contact Lisa Gaumnitz, lisa.gaumnitz@sossaveoursongbirds.org, to volunteer at these or other opportunities.

  • Partner with Johnson’s Nursery to offer a native plant sale in your area — 15% of proceeds returned to your organization

  • Display/demonstrate some of the window treatment options, provide samples of some products, and possibly coordinate/arrange contract help for people to address hard-to-reach windows

  • Offer a coffee tasting for Bird Friendly certified products or organize a coffee club with Birds & Beans Coffee.

    Interested? Contact lisa.gaumnitz@sossaveoursongbirds.org

Become a cooperating business partner

Help us grow Wisconsin’s market for native plants, window treatments to prevent bird collisions, and coffee grown to meet Bird Friendly certification or USDA organic standards.

By offering a discount for SOS Save Our Songbirds subscribers or donating product that we can use at our events, you’ll be helping add to your customer base while doing good things for Wisconsin birds and bird lovers.
